In 2014 ebook sales soared and actually outsold traditional book sales, paperback and hardcover combined, thanks aggressive online bookstores such as Amazon.com.
With fear of losing market share, publishing houses publicly warned that ebooks are going to destroy the industry, but they also said that about paperbacks.
